April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th day of July. She began lessons on piano and guitar at age seven. The passion for writing songs was ignited. at the age of 12, April came up with her first original song Different. When she was 14 April spent a lot of her time making song lyrics and working on her musical skills. Then, in the following months, April began to travel with her dad as well as write her songs at home in NY as well as LA. April started to include other subjects in Take My Hand for her friends who were dealing with peer pressure, disabilities or suicide. Lockhart is an influencer in the beauty and lifestyle industry who has a growing following. She is a partner with the popular brand Ilia together, in addition to being a specialist in lifestyle. Her birth was without a left hand. It's part of her story, but this isn't the whole truth. Lockhart's profile on Instagram doesn't cover up her disability, but it does not just focus on her disability. The point? It is important to remember that everyone has numerous faces. Our identities are diverse and we're beyond our body. I do not want this to determine me. I do not wish to become a disability influencer in which I only discuss because there are many different elements to me. Lockhart says via video from her residence in Nashville. My everyday life isn't directly affected by disability. I lead a normal, everyday life and find my own solutions to problems. This is also part of me, and I believe it's something that needs to be addressed. Self-acceptance is a long marathon however Lockhart is an absolute inspiration in this regard. Lockhart admits to having been through a series of phases in her body, and felt insecure at times to wear clothing that displayed the arms of her. Now, though she dons whatever she wants and posts pictures of herself in these outfits on social networks with a sense of pride. Self-love, she says is a journey. I'm not sure when you'll reach the end. However, that is common for anyone that is prone to doubts. It is important to have people in your life who know and can relate to your situation.
